Knife wielding man raids Wycombe store

A MAN wielded a knife and shouted at staff during an attempted robbery at a store in High Wycombe.

The man - dressed in all black clothes with his hands and face covered – lunged at staff during the raid at Disha Stores at 7.11pm on Sunday.

He demanded the employee hand over money but, because the worker was not immediately forthcoming with the cash, the man fled the Desborough Avenue store empty handed.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Det Con Richard Hobson said: β€œIt appears there were lots of people around the area at the time so I would urge anyone in the vicinity of the store to please come forward as they may be potential witnesses.”

Witnesses are urged to contact police on the 24-hour non-emergency number 101.
